Well designed soup bowls like these can be used for so many different things besides just soup: cereal, salads, pastas, etc. Soup bowls are the staple of any porcelain collection and Penelope Penzo's Mauritius pattern is simply beautiful with its single fish in greens and blues centered on a stark white porcelain background. The inside of each of the four bowls is different with four different rims to choose from. Penzo's newest line is made in Limoges France. Each bowl measures 1.5" deep and 8.7" from outside rim to outside rim.
The first picture is the quill rim design with a single multicolored fish centered on the white background.
The second picture shows the fan design with a deep blue fish centered in the middle.
The third picture on the left has a touch of red in the rim design. There is a very pretty fish in the center who complements the rim colors. On the right is the sunburst design with a blue and yellow fish in the center.
Because of the gold rim along the top rim, each bowl is handwash.
